6 Reasons Why Leia is the Best Princess

Ah, the lovely Princess Organza, played by the late Carrie Fisher, has got to be my favorite fictional princess.

Ever.

She sarcastic and witty and brave and fearless. Full of comebacks, never a shirker of battles, and always ready to take care of those under her care.

A general, a princess, and one strong with the force, you have to admit she's one of the best.

Plus she's with Han Solo, so I mean, that automatically bumps her status up. ;)

Here's six reasons why I think Leia is the best princess.

Staying Organized | Part I

The hardest thing for me, whether during the school year or not, is staying organized and keeping all my *crap* in order. During the school year especially, I have found that 1) having a specific spot for everything 2) having a specific job for everything (i.e. not having stuff that I don't need) and 3) knowing where to find everything when I need it makes my life a bazillion times easier.

All that to say, I'm starting a series on "how to keep your crap in order and stay sane during the school year". Only I thought that title was too long, so my working title is "Staying Organized". Succinct but lame. ;)

This week's topic:

Book Haul || Episode II

Guys.

Best. Book Haul. Ever.

No I am not joking. I would like to give myself a gold sticky star because I just pulled off my great heist, my best haul, my most amazing book purchase possibly in my life. This might possibly be an overreaction, but it could also not be just keeping reading and decide for yourself.

Last time I posted a book haul, I talked about getting them at your local library sale cart, and while I do stand behind the amazingness of that, I have found another gold mine.

Thrift Stores. *trumpets blare* Dudes - I found a pristine copy of "The Book Thief" and the first four books of PJO (two of which are hardcover)!!!!! *fangirl squeals* can't. even. right now.

February Playlist

Up north where I am, we are deep in the arctic freeze, apparently. Negative degree weather at night and all that fun stuff, so there's not a ton you can do without being very cold.

Bad news = eight people have been crammed into a tiny house together for far too long and everyone is starting to go slightly insane and the cat has cabin fever and all my siblings have chicken pox and ohmyword.

Good news = music.

Need I say more??

Style Crush | Erin Hanson

So I've decided to start a "Style Crush" series on de ole blog - because why not? I'm certainly not a very fashionable person, I mean at the moment I'm wearing a hoodie and jeans (the same hoodie and jeans I wear almost everyday), BUT being someone who likes to sew my own clothes I do like to admire people's styles.

So this week I'm admiring my favorite blogger possibly in the entire world Erin Hanson, from over at The Halfway Point.

I literally love every. single. thing about her style! And the fact that she sews pretty much every outfit that I love makes me love them ten times more.

She makes these gorgeous suspender skirts, and I already have like three planned that I want to make, because let's be honest here - when the words "suspender" and "skirt" are in the same sentence, you know there's good stuff happening.

Pretty much everything she wears are skirts and dresses - ADORABLE skirts and dresses. And then she pairs them with her brown lace-up boots and my heart just flutters away. Because perfection.

January Playlist

Desktop Calendar by Geninne

Samson, Regina Spektor
Stressed Out, Twenty One Pilots
The Resistance, Josh Garrels
Not What My Hands Have Done, Indelible Grace ft. Taylor Sorenson

I haven't been listening to a ton of music lately - I've just been so busy. Inwardly screams at what I just said.  You know how life happens and you realize at the end of a day that you never listened to any music? That's been my month. But these songs above have been my current favorites for sure.

I realized I'm getting into rap a little more....? Do you guys have any good rap songs you like? Let me know your current listenings and I'll give them a try. :D

Word of the Month | Selenophile

selenophile - noun - one who loves the moon

I have loved astronomy since I was a little girl. There is something about the moon and stars that has always enthralled me, and the moon especially has been on my mind of late.

And tonight is this month's full moon!

I have been thinking for a while about starting an astronomy journal. I'd track the moon, doodle my observations, etc.

What do you think? Do you love the moon? Would you keep an astronomy journal?
